Mago can now make a film from a script

For the last year, Mago has been a tool for footage you already have. You bring a playblast, a previs or a live-action plate, and Mago transforms it while keeping the motion, timing and performance intact. Today it can start from nothing. Write an idea or paste a script, and Mago takes it all the way to a finished cut.
Why long form is hard
Making one good AI shot isn’t the hard part anymore. The hard part is the fortieth shot: the same character, in the same clothing, in the same location, still looking like themselves. Most tools treat every prompt as a fresh start, so faces drift, rooms change shape, and a story turns into a pile of unrelated clips. That works for a ten-second clip. It doesn’t work for an episode.

Built like a production
So we built Long form the way a film gets made. The script or idea comes first. From it, Mago casts every character, place and prop, and you approve each one once. Every shot is then rendered with that cast attached. Dialogue, sound and music come out of the same render, and the shots line up as a cut you can watch from start to finish.
Leo’s Magic Bean started as a single sentence: a boy plants a magic bean in his garden and wakes up to a beanstalk reaching into the clouds. Eight shots later, it looks like this.
What’s next
Long form is in alpha, and we’re currently building and improving it with you guys - the people who use it. To try it, create a new project in Mago and choose Full AI drama production. We’d love to see what you make!
